i've asked soaps if we could spend the rest of our lives together.  She said yep!  engaged to be engaged, as i'm poor and have no money.
*it means it's a promise that an engagement will occur*

wow it's been a while.  Uh.. stuff has happened.  Right now school has started this week.  So it's a mix of school and work and life.  Less time to do stuff like this than before.  So just a heads up.. i'm still alive

howdy folks, clockin in here, had a good 4th of july weekend.  I was lucky, got the monday off, and i actually had friday off as well, so i had a good 5 days off!

Sat to Sun went to SD to hang with Sophia's friends and to celebrate one of their bdays. That was a good time, SD was actually pretty hot, hotter than other places were.

Sunday went to see Superman Returns.  It makes sense that they would fashion the movie after the christopher reeve versions of the movie and not the comic book, since they had it take place after the first two original supermans.  On that note, Brandon routh did a really good Christopher Reeve/Superman, and Kevin Spacey did an impressive Gene Hackman/Lex Luthor.  I liked the movie, you people should watch.

Monday:  Went fishin with Justin, Carey, and Gar in Dana Point.  That was really fun.  Everywhere that wasn't covered in clothes and i didn't manage to cover in sunblock got really burned.  Caught alot of fish, caught me a 18 inch calico bass, about 3 to 4 pounds.  We didn't end up tying the bag up right tho, so when we left the bag in the water to keep the fish we caught alive, all but one escaped.  That's ok, the others that we ended up catching afterwards we let go, decided that we'd be too tired to cook em anyway.  I ended up catching a really big starfish.. i'm still not sure how that happened.  I was just reeling in my line to check if my bait was still there, noticed that something was weighing down my rod, and up came this.. had to be nearly a foot in diameter blue/purple starfish.  Gar caught a pelican, hehe.  We started fishing for halibut close to this rock peninsula, and where a bunch of pelicans were chilling.  Right when we went picked a spot this one pelican jumped down from the rocks and started swimming toward us, and was chasing after our bait everytime we dropped it into the water, so we had to drop the weight down really quick.  Gar didn't do it fast enough, and the pelican picked up the bait.  We had to reel in the pelican before he swallowed the hook, and Carey held the pelican by the lower jaw and picked out the hook.  Didn't deter the pelican though, he still stuck around.  Can't believe how exhausting sitting in a boat can be.  The sun beating on you all day really tires you out.

Monday I was hanging out with sophia most of the day, watched the last half of the germany vs. italy game.  Went to Gar's for a bbq, then hung out with Eva and Yoshi and some others to launch some fireworks.  Good times.

Right now, still workin, chillin, and etc.  Later all.

Been a while, i'll try to recap.

Last week:  Went home for a couple of things.  Moved my grandma into this total chinese retirement home.  Like, really chinese, the staff, food, everything is all chinese.  It's a really nice place.  I wish we didn't move her into the retirement home tho, i wish she could have stayed with one of her kids (my dad or one of my aunts), but i guess this is the decision they came to.  Also went to watch my sis grad for biz school, which was pretty cool.

Last weekend:  Went to vegas with Sophia and her friends.  That was fun, i learned how to play pai gow, played some blackjack, ended up even.  Saw the M&M store, which for some reason i thought you had to pay to get into.  DIdn't buy any m&ms though.. didn't really feel like candy.  Hot as hell, lemme tell ya, 110 to 120 the whole time.  Just standing outside in the heat was sorta painful, really felt like i was being cooked.  How any wildlife that doesn't include cold blooded animals survive out there is pretty amazing to me.

Nothing is happening at work.  Nothing.  I've done all the stuff i can and i can only wait on the others to catch up, so for the past few days i've spent the whole day just.. sitting.. really.  FOr like 8 hours.  Not doing a thing.  It sounds like fun, which it kinda is, but at the same time i wish i was doing something productive.  Yes, the problems i have, trying to entertain myself at work while getting paid.

Well i guess that's it (or all ic an remember), later party people

whew, not being a lazy bum who sits around on their butt all day long... really leaves little time to do things like this.  I haven't even watched anime in like.. over two weeks, and manga in over a week.  Shocking isn't it?  Seriously it's a sign of the apocalypse.

Been up to quite a bit.  When to sea world san diego with Sophia, got drenched and walked around with damp shorts all day.  Seen a bunch of movies, and just been generally having a good time.  Realized i haven't been updating this thing, and i know how much you are wondering what's going on in my life.  Well at least the crickets are.  if they had computers.. and the ability to surf the internet... and didn't find something else more interesting to do.. like reading up on the latest cricket celebrities.

While i was at work today, my phone rang, and the ID said it was my dad.  So i picked up and said "what's up?"  That's when my dad starting talking in this very serious tone, and kinda fast.  Just by the way he was talking, i couldn't understand anything he was saying, and it was actually sort of frightening.  My dad has never spoken to me that way before, and it sort of surprised and scared me, because i thought something terrible had happened.  After a few seconds my dad realized he had called the wrong Brian, but was trying to reach a co-worker.  After i hung up, I realized the different tones that my dad speaks to me, different from everyone else (except other family members i'm guessing).  I've realized my dad speaks to me with a certain amount of warmth and love, which are shaded by whatever it is we're talking about (how you doin conversations, concerned conversations, even angry conversations), and when i heard his voice devoid of that warmth and love, i could really tell the difference.  It makes me wonder... do i have a voice like that?  I know i talk to strangers, coworkers, and my friends and family quite differently, but is it obvious?  I've never noticed any great differences, and no one has every brought it to my attention.  I wonder if we all have that?
